TruckCare Connect Saves Us Over $27,000 Per Year!

We’ve been using TruckCare Connect since 2003 and we’re very happy with everything it’s helping us manage. TruckCare Connect Makes Managing 3000+ Pieces Of Equipment A Piece Of Cake

Decker Truck Line has used the Connect system since 2004 to manage our maintenance program consisting of over 3000 pieces of equipment and 80 technicians. Connect provides the features needed to track and manage inventory, labor hours, equipment maintenance and PM schedules. With over twenty users at seven locations across the United States we are able to monitor daily activities providing the necessary information to maintain equipment up-time and create a window of opportunity to complete routine and preventive maintenance schedules.

TruckCare Connect Helps Us Compete With The Big Boys By Cutting Costs

Since we implemented the TruckCare Connect system we have been able to cut our operating costs. We now run very efficiently and are able to do the same amount of work with fewer employees. We understand that is hard to hear in today’s economy but the bottom line is that if you are a smaller shop and you want to be able to compete with the big boys you need to be able to run efficiently and keep your costs down. The TruckCare Connect system has enabled us to do just that.

We are able to track and bill out all the time that is spent when doing a job. Our mechanics create their own work orders in the system – as the work order is created, the system starts tracking the mechanics labor time. The mechanic also looks up and assigns parts to the job and can add notes if needed. When they are completed with the job, they click a box that says unit ready.The front office just has to do a quick review of the work order and invoices it to the customer. The learning curve on how to use the system for mechanics is fairly simple and in the long run saves time, money and headcount. We don’t have to hire a parts man now and our front office staff is doing other things besides entering and billing out work orders because it comes to them 99% complete. Currently we are billing out 35 of every 40 hours worked by a mechanic – which proves the usability and efficiency that the TruckCare Connect system provides to our operation.

My Clients Love The Easy To Understand Invoices

Since we started with TruckCare Connect system we’ve received numerous compliments on how easy our invoices are to read and understand, not only from our own fleet operators but also from a big, local fleet who compares them to other invoices they’ve received on the road. Each job is broken down with parts listed out right under the labor activity making it easy to find all the information and easy to understand.

The inventory control capabilities are excellent, providing me the ability to easily manage my parts cores, warranty and parts purchases. The purchase order system makes it easy to manage parts orders, especially to our sponsoring Peterbilt Connect dealer, because the POs are automatically sent to them. This saves me the time I would otherwise spend on telephone calls, and the Peterbilt dealer and I can now easily track them. The 1% rebate on all my parts purchases from my Peterbilt dealer is a great deal for us, the rebate for each purchase is shown right on the Purchase Order screen and it also shows how much I’ve accumulated for the year so far.

TruckCare Connect Is A Must-Have Tool For Us

TruckCare Connect system is a strong tool that helps us manage PM services on 170 units. We download unit mileage at each fuel stop and Connect alerts us to the required services at the correct intervals. The Connect system is very robust and we use it to help manage inventory, parts warranty, PM services, and required reporting. My favorite part of the reporting system is being able to track by VMRS code. Tracking these categories over time provides us useful insight to better manage our business. In addition, I really like the professional looking invoices that the system generates for our customers.
